Michael is a talented designer, engineer and our builder at the sanctuary. As a child Michael would disassemble toys, radios and watches just so he could see how they worked, learn from that process and put it all back together again. He could be found in his spare time
building some kind of gadget or device to make things run and work more efficiently.
His creative inspiration came from his grandfather who was an engineer himself. We say he's the muscle behind the magic here.
Having a background in electrical engineering in his early 20s gave way to his life long automotive career.
He is a designer by nature having the ability to visualize a project and manifest it with precision and quality. He has been an Soft Trim and Convertible Top Specialist for almost 30 years where he puts his talents into motion.
Not only does he do restoration and prototype design but fabrication when needed, working with many different mediums of production including sewing, wood and metal working and light welding to name a but a few.
With this career and it's experience he has been an asset here at the sanctuary designing and creating our beautiful sacred spaces both indoors and out in Nature. He's helped to bring the sanctuary into a more 'Green' approach to functioning and sustaining with our solar powered lighting and solar energy system that helps to run the greenhouses in cooler weather. a passion of his is to find better solutions to a healthier sustainable future both at home and for the communities in need.
We look forward to expanding the 'off grid' system as technology improves. His new Autumn project will be the installation of our new clothesline pulley system to enable us to use the natural elements of air and sunlight to dry our clothes and further reduce our carbon footprints.
Michael is also a natural mentor being able to encourage each individual to seek out their inclinations and put themselves to work tackling a problem head on and thoroughly building the foundation into a beautiful lasting creation. He gently inspires others to think outside of the box and open their minds to the wide fields of possibilities. He is great at explaining the processes of a chore or job in a way that educates the person about the task they are undertaking and encourages their own awakening of creativity and individuality. He is a patient and loyal human that values hard work, self discipline and commitment to the task at hand.
If you have ever had one of your cars worked on by Michael or the wonderful creations at the sanctuary, you understand his creativity, originality and his dedication to doing quality work that is impressionable and everlasting.
